The Kaje Sessions: Benny Marchant

The Kaje Sessions presents Benny Marchant. Far from a newcomer to the music world, Marchant formed his first band NRG with a group school mates, which lead to gigs all over the globe, however, post-Graduation NRG split and Marchant relocated to Nashville to pursue his musical dream. After scoring minor success on local radio, Marchant relocated once again to Southern California where he found success awaiting him. With the So. Cal. crowd cheering him on, Marchant has set his eyes breaking Europe and as our The Kaje Session in the park shows, Marchant may not have to have to wait too long…

Where did you record The Kaje Session?

Queensway, Kensington Gardens.

What made you choose to use this location?

I was excited to get an opportunity to explore London and perform outside of a studio!

What is the most unusual live date you have ever played?

My College Alumni Festival.  Was interesting playing in front of all of my friends and family .

What made you choose to sing ‘Be With You’ for the session?

This is one of my favourite songs to sing live!  This setting seemed like a great place for it.

The Kaje Sessions: Tecnoctitlan (TNTT)

The Kaje Sessions presents Tecnoctitlan (TNTT). Argentinian duo Tecnoctitlan (pronounced TECH-NOC-TI-TLAN, but you can call them TNTT) are Milena and Ariel who mix rock chich with laptop generated electro. However, the Mayan and Aztec obsessed duo decided to change their style slightly just for The Kaje Sessions… In a special performance just for The Kaje, this is “Keep Calm and Carry On”

Where did you record The Kaje Session?

We did it in front of a WWII replica plane on Horse Guard Parade. On the steps of the Cabinet War Rooms

What made you choose to use this location?

We wanted to find somewhere interesting and related to WWII or the Army… This location covered both angles. We thought the police would stop us filming or interrogate us, that would have made great out-takes! Unfortunately, the only thing that stopped us was the rain!

What is the most unusual live date you have ever played?

We’ll be playing at The Dualism Book signing events in September… They are renowned for the outrageous photography , controversial subjects and shocking performance-art events… We honestly don’t know what to expect on the night!

What made you choose “Keep Calm and Carry On” for the session?

This song is the one that always gets everyone dancing on our gigs, we close the show with it and thought it would be interesting doing an acoustic version of it.

It sounds happy and upbeat but if you listen to the lyrics it actually talks about what we think it’s a heavy subject.

If like Tecnoctitlan, you would like to demonstrate your abilities (be it singing, acting, painting, comedy, poetry – anything goes!) on The Kaje Sessions, simply e-mail thekaje@thekaje.com with details of the talent you’d like to demonstrate!
