NEWS: MBC Korean Culture Festival Line-Up Revealed

Korea’s most respected fashion designer Park Sul-Nyeo, known her beautiful designs of traditional Korean formal wear, will be hosting a fashion show during the Korean Cultural Festival: The London Han Festival.  The event will be taking place at Indigo 02 starting at 5pm on the 23rd of June 2012. The event will also host two of Korea’s biggest names in pop music.

Park Sul-Nyeo’s  is one of Korea’s most cherished designers. Internationally known for creating the oh-so beautiful Hanboks, the traditional costume of Korea. Park Sul-Nyeo has built a thriving fashion label designing the outfits, which comprise a wrap top and full skirt; their origins date back to the 15th Century. Park Sul-Nyeo is also known as forward thinker, her most recent fashion show took place in an aquarium where models performed acrobatic dances underwater. Park Sul- neyo is not only worn and loved by Korean clientele but by the likes of Britney Spears, Pixie Lott, David La Shapelle, Usher and Mika; to name but a few of her biggest fans. Joining her at the event will be two of Korea’s biggest pop groups: EXO and 4 Minute (we should mention here if they are playing and if possible to know when, or if they will be in the show) . Exo is a  Chinese-South Korean 12 piece boy band, formed in 2011 in Seoul,  with only just one mini album ‘Mama’ under their belt, they have managed to have a number 1 single in both Chinese and Korean charts, debuted at number eight on the Billboard World Albums.

4 Minute is a five-member girl group from South Korea, formed in 2009 that have released one Korean full-length album, three Korean mini-albums, one Japanese full album, six Japanese single albums and several Korean singles. The group received the Bonsang Award at the 20th Seoul Music Awards on January 20, 2011; and on February 6, 2011, the group attended the 2010 Billboard Japan Music Awards where they received the “Kpop New Artist Award”.

The London Han Festival aims to promote and create cultural awareness for the Korean fashion and entertainment industries among the UK audiences and media. Interviews with Mrs Park Sul-Nyeo are available on the day, upon request.
