VIDEO: Our Eurovision 2012 Predictions…

Everyone always writes the Eurovision off as a politically charged contest, with the winner a predictable farce. Here at The Kaje we strongly disagree. With Norway, Germany and Azerbaijan in the list of recent winners, there is a diversity to the nations that have won and usually the stand out song tips the poll. Having watched the semi-finals, and studied up on the remainding acts, here at The Kaje we are ready to unveil our Top 5 countdown…

5) Lorene  – “Euphoria” (Sweden)

The bookies’ favourite Lorene delivers a track that could easily be mistaken for any of the David Guetta/Kelly Rowland hook ups. While there is no doubting Lorene’s vocal ability, we are not sure she will walk it this year…

4) Gaitana – “Be My Guest” (Ukraine)

Ukraine’s Gaitana could be this year’s underdog… A catchy, summery number that is very relevant to the current chart-stream. While she may be overlooked for bookies’ favourites, we hope she at least comes in the top few…

3) Buranovskiye Babushki – “Party For Everybody” (Russia)

While the Russian Grannies are easily this year’s most talked about novelty act, they distinguish themselves from former novelties by impressing with the superbly catchy club friendly track…

2)  Ott Lepland – “Kuula” (Estonia)

With a ballad heavy semi-final, The Kaje were blown away by this stunning Estonian number. With former Estonian entrant Maarja still a firm favourite of our editor, he is solidly rooting for this number…

1) Jedward – “Waterline” (Ireland)

The former X Factor contestants and Celebrity Juice regulars have gone a bit Busted on us, and boy did they impress in the semis. Stunning staging, synchronised movement and surprisingly impressive vocals, the boys have put the work in and deserve the crown!
