The Kaje Sessions: Lowlakes

The Kaje Sessions presents Lowlakes. Having formed in Alice Springs under the name The Moxie, Bill Guerin, Jack Talbot and Thomas Snowdon (vocals, guitar) made the move to Melbourne in 2009, where they recruited Bendigo’s Brent Monaghan.Under their new name – Lowlakes – the quartet have the Melbourne music mesmerized. Currently recording, the boys took some time out to record this rendition of “Song For Motion” for The Kaje Sessions.

Where did you record The Kaje Session?

At the ‘Kunsthaus’ studio in Mornington Penninsula, Melbourne, Australia.

What made you choose to use this location?

We like that the video is shot in a realistic setting – it simply involved us playing and recording the song live whilst being filmed. We think this gives it a very honest atmosphere.

What is the most unusual live date you have ever played?

Probably the ‘Melbourne Generator Party’ (2010). A bunch of people hire a generator and put on shows at a secret location – we played at one under a motorway in a storm.

What made you choose “Song For Motion” for the session?

We are currently recording our debut release at the ‘Kunsthaus’ studio. This video documents the live tracking of ‘Song for Motion’ which will feature on the record, to be released independently in March 2012.
