The Kaje Sessions: Islington Boys’ Club

The Kaje Sessions presents Islington Boys’ Club. Having met through mutual friends, this North London based quartet have been building up an unbeatable reputation on the live circuit. With their double A Side Pristine/Plastic 16 easily one of The Kaje‘s favourite releases of 2010, we were thrilled that they agreed to this very special The Kaje Session.

Where did you record The Kaje Session?

We recorded it in The Church Of The New Jerusalem in Islington.

What made you choose to use this location?

We choose it because of it’s rather unusual aesthetic and natural reverb.

What is the most unusual live date you have ever played?

Probably the most unusual place we’ve played is on a boat on the Thames, last Summer. We went onstage around 1am and the boat was quite literally rocking!

What made you choose “Misfit Sugar” for the session?

We chose to do it as an acoustic for you because it’s going to be the title song of our next release, an EP, which is out in the Spring. Wanted to give you a flavor of that rather than doing one of the songs from our debut single that just came out last month.
