The Kaje talks 2000Trees to Goldheart Assembly

James Dale and John Herbert reportedly met whilst working as zookeepers at Whipsnade Zoo, finding a mutual love for music and deciding to form a band. Soon enough they had recruited Jake Bowser, Nicky Francis, Thomas Hastings, Dominic Keshavarz and formed a musical force which would become known as Goldheart Assembly.  A force to be reckoned with, the Fierce Panda signings have recently released their debut album “Wolves and Thieves” to much acclaim, whilst making the most of the summer sun on the festival circuit. When The Kaje got five minutes with Tom, we made sure we got a chance to talk about 2000Trees

2000trees festival showcases the best in British new music. What are your favourite up and coming British bands or artists at the moment?

Villagers – caught him on Jools Hollandrecently, he was great.
Thee Single Spy – dark folk Velvet Underground-esque brilliance, and good mates of ours.
Joseph Works – a bit like PJ Harvey but better.

Have you ever been to 2000trees before, if so what have been your highlights from previous years?

Never been – ask me next year!

Who is your favourite British band of all time?

Spinal Tap or The Beatles

What are your plans for your performance at 2000trees?

To ruddy well play our socks off to a sun-kissed rabble, and not get lost among all the trees.

Which other artists are you and your fans looking forward to seeing, at this year at 2000trees festival?

Bombay Bicycle Club and The Dawn Chorus, Cats and Cats and Cats, and Sparrow and the Workshop – purely cos I like the names.
