VIDEO: Matt Fishel “Football Song”

Unless you have been asleep for the past few days, you will have found it impossible not to notice that the World Cup is upon us.  Whilst Dizzee and Corden have shot to the top of the charts with their Tears For Fears “Shout” rip-off, Stephen Fry has been backing an alternative footie record.  Musically Matt Fishel’s “Football Song” is far from the rousing chart of  “Shout” but the piano ballad is equally uplifting.  Unlike his chart rivals, Fishel is not a big football fan nor has he ever had footballer ambitions – instead, he was the awkward school boy who avoided P.E. as if it were the plague.  “Football Song” was seem like a novelty concept, but I defy you to not find more comical charm if Fishel’s little finger than Dizzee and Corden combined…
