The Kaje talks Latitude to Philippa Perry

Latitude prides itself on being more than just a music festival.  Whilst over the past week we have celebrated some of the exciting musical acts who will be appearing at the festival, we thought that we had best let you know about some of the other luminaries who will be making an appearance.  First up we pop into the literary arena, where you will find Philippa Perry.  Having previously worked as a litigation clerk, an enquiry agent, a McDonalds’ employee, Perry is now best known for her work as a psychotherapist and most recently as an author.  Her debut graphic novel “Couch Fiction; a graphic tale of psychotherapy” has just been released and her Latitude appearance promises to be a lively, comical insight into the world of psychotherapy.  The Kaje had just three minutes to find out more…

When you think of Latitude what five words spring to mind?

Jonny Phillips, lighting, gas, stove.

If you could only see one performance at this year’s festival what would it be?

It depends who is wearing the best moustache, Rufus Hound or Richard Herring.

What five items will you be bringing to Latitude?

Phone, memory stick, hairbrush, program and ear plugs.

Do you have anything special planed for your performance at Latitude?

Mixing up humour and psychotherapy to make therapy more accessible/less frightening. But it will be more spontaneous than planned, although a slide show may happen. It will be for people with an interest in psychotherapy, however slight or however obsessive.

Latitude is five years old, how did you celebrate your fifth birthday?

I have no memory of the event, or even if it was an event.

She worked as a litigation clerk, an enquiry agent, a McDonalds’ employee and she also went to Middlesex Polytechnic and gained a degree in Fine Art as a mature student
