The Kaje talks Latitude to Tokyo Police Club

Whilst the Sunrise Arena at this year’s Latitude boasts appearances from a host of contenders for the new indie queen crown; from Jesca Hoop to Holly Miranda via Lissie, the all-male Canadian quartet Tokyo Police Club are planning to add a touch of testosterone to proceedings. The Kaje was lucky enough to have a few minutes with singer and bassist Dave Monks to find out what they are most looking forward to.

When you think of Latitude what 5 words spring to mind?

Longitude, lateral, latte, attitude, elephant.

If you could only see one performance at this year’s festival what would it be?

The National. I saw them at a festival last year and it was one of the best festival sets I’ve ever seen.  Hooray for The National!

What five items will you be bringing to Latitude?

Party hat, all-in-one travel utensil, night vision goggles, mace (the medieval kind), mace (the spray kind).

Latitude is five years old, how did you celebrate your fifth birthday?

I travelled forward through time to the year 2010 and threw an enormously awesome festival in Suffolk with bands like Belle & Sebastian, Florence & The Machine and Vampire Weekend.  It was good times.
